The drawing and painting group is led by professor Jenny in the mornings. Here the children learn to mix colors and to express themselves through drawing and painting. Also in the mornings, Carmen runs a workshop on self-esteem. She uses interactive games and activities to support them in developing confidence in themselves.
The older children can participate in wood carving classes with Maria Teresa in the afternoon. This class is not just a nice way to spend free time, the children also learn something they could one day use for a job.
The Theatre Group, Rijch`arina, also runs in the afternoons and aims to be a place to have fun and learn some of the secrets of performance. And as Andrea, one of the teachers outlines, “theater is not only about talent, it is also about self-confidence, because daily life is nothing more than a scenario in which we must not lose control”.
And finally last month we started the Anime (Japanese animation) group discussion and drawing. This group works with adolescents who watch an Anime film for an hour and then express their opinions about the movie, followed by a drawing class.
