Helping Hands Volunteers are volunteers that want to generally help the organization and the South American community in which we work. No specific background or expertise is required. We ask only that you be dedicated to our mission of providing quality education and community development services to marginalized communities in Bolivia. In the past, we’ve had high school students, gap year students, university students and professionals willing to give their time to our more general initiatives.
We always have a wide variety of activities going on and can use support for any number of them. Some of the areas in which Helping Hands Volunteers can work are:
- Helping in the day care
- Helping in the English classes
- Tutoring of all school levels (mainly English and mathematics)
- Helping with expos, fairs and other community events
- Giving workshops on SODIS (we train volunteers on this solar water disinfecting method)
- Social networking
- Doing light construction and clean-up
- Supporting longer-term volunteers in their initiatives
If you are interested in contributing your time to Proyecto Horizonte, please fill out our Volunteer Form specifying your interest as a Helping Hands Volunteer. Your support and enthusiasm is always appreciated!
